Production line test

This is a practise I did recently to get used to animation controls in Maya. I tried to apply a few things I'd learned off the recent Pixar character animation masterclass I attended. Trying to use the eyebrows as they are a very expressive part of the face. Making sure the eyes are always reacting to show the thoughts of the character, not just blankly staring at things. The animation is just a test and if I have time I'll refine it again, as I can pick out a lot of things I'd like to correct already.

One part that I think works well is the quick head turn before he looks at the lever. He takes a glance to the right because he's suddenly realised that he's let something go past he should've corrected. He motions to look down the conveyor belt reflexively but is already motioning to pull the lever. Ed Hooks said, understanding what the character is thinking can lead to better animation, and I think his advice worked for that part of animation.
